Visualizing Europe's Soaring Youth Unemployment
Breaking into the workforce looks very different depending on where you live in Europe. While some countries have relatively smooth transitions from education into employment, others continue to struggle with stubbornly high youth unemployment.
This visualization, created by DataPulse Research via Visual Capitalist, uses Eurostat data alongside additional analysis from DataPulse Research to compare unemployment rates among 15- to 24-year-olds across the EU in June 2025. Under Eurostat’s methodology, unemployed young people are those actively seeking work and available to start within two weeks.

Russia has become Syria's leading supplier of oil since the collapse of former Syrian president Bashar al-Assad’s government and the rise to power of former Al-Qaeda chief Ahmad al-Sharaa, according to Reuters.
Shipments of Russian oil have risen by 75 percent this year to roughly 60,000 barrels per day (bpd), based on Reuters calculations using official data and vessel tracking from LSEG, MarineTraffic, and Shipnext.

A serious airspace breach occurred in Beijing's Central Business District earlier Friday, when a Sunward SA60L Aurora light aircraft crashed into the 1,700-foot-tall CITIC Tower.
The incident is a major wake-up call for Beijing's airspace defenses, not only in the financial district but also around CITIC Group, one of China's major state-owned financial and investment conglomerates.

French Commandos Board & Seize 4th Russian 'Shadow Fleet' Vessel Since September
France announced Monday another weekend interdiction of a Russian "shadow fleet" vessel in international waters near its coast. The French Navy boarded and detained a sanctioned oil tanker, President Emmanuel Macron announced Monday, in an operation which had the assistance from the UK Royal Navy and other allies.
This marks the fourth time since September that French commandoes have intercepted a boarded a sanctioned Russian vessel in regional waters.
